We seriously considered making it free. We chose not to. Here is the reason.
A free record gets set up once and forgotten: numbers change, policies lapse, the app gets uninstalled. And a forgotten, out-of-date record is a risk to your family. If it ever reached out on its own, it could go to the wrong person, or raise a false alarm and cause needless panic.
A small subscription keeps your record current, checked on, and correct on the day it matters. It is also how we earn — which means we never need to show ads or sell your data.
Also: this is not a one-time activity. Numbers change, banks merge, people move. A record like this only works if it stays updated for the rest of your life, whether you begin at thirty or at seventy. A subscription is what lets a small company keep this running for decades.
What happens if the subscription ever stops
Payments stop for many reasons — a card expires, a bank changes, life gets busy. Here is exactly what happens, in plain words.
A failed payment is not treated as leaving. Google Play retries the payment for a while, and your subscription stays active during that window.
If time passes and we truly don't hear from you, your record goes quiet — but it is not deleted. We stop sending reminders. Your record stays safely kept, exactly as you left it.
And your family can still come and ask. Even years later, if something has happened to you, the people you named can still raise a claim — with the same careful checks as always — and whatever your record held is handed to them. A stopped payment never takes that away from your family.
And nothing is ever quietly removed. If a record has sat silent and unpaid for years and data rules ask us not to keep it longer than needed, we warn you first, on every channel. Removal is never a surprise.
