For the family · opens only if something happens

In most homes, one person knows where everything is.

When something happens to them, everything they knew goes with them — and the family is left searching.

So you write it down in KinNest. We hold it carefully — and hand it over only when it's truly needed.

01 — The problem

Families don't lose money only to fraud. A lot of it is lost because no one knew it was there.

Every year in India, savings, insurance and deposits go unclaimed — simply because the family never knew they existed, or never knew where to look.

when a nominee is registered and the family knows where to go

Without a record, your family is left with drawers, guesses and months of phone calls. With KinNest, they know what exists, where it is and what to do next.

02 — The gap it fills

Your money is in more places than anyone else knows.

Your apps track the online part — funds and stocks on one platform, linked accounts. The rest sits scattered, and only you hold the full picture.

The almirah & the locker

The deed, the gold, the key — where each one actually sits, written in your words.

The passbooks & FDs

Which banks, which branches — and whether a nominee is registered at each one.

The policies

LIC, health, term, vehicle — the insurer, the agent's name, the policy that matters.

The direct mutual funds

Bought straight from HDFC, Franklin Templeton and others — each with its own registrar (CAMS, KFintech).

The newer things

Digital gold, bonds, crypto — things your family may not even know exist.

PF, pension & more

PF and pension, post-office savings — and private loans people still owe you.

You record all of it in KinNest — what it is, where it is, and your note. KinNest keeps only your written words and the photos you add.

03 — How it works

Write it down once, update it when life changes. We do the rest.

Setting up takes about half an hour. After that, it runs on its own.

STEP 1

Write it down

List what you own — your flat, your gold, your policies — and where each one is kept. Just where to look, never the password. Add a photo so your family recognises it.

STEP 2

Choose your people

Pick the people you trust to receive it for your family. They see nothing until the time comes.

STEP 3

We check you're okay

From time to time, KinNest asks if you're okay. One tap — "I'm fine" — and nothing changes.

STEP 4

We hand it over, carefully

If you ever stop replying, KinNest tells your people and, after careful checks, opens your record to them.

A quick check-in is dueThis is everything KinNest ever asks of you.
04 — When the day comes

Your family gets each entry, and the steps to claim it.

At the hardest time, every entry tells them exactly what to do.

What exists, and where

Each thing you recorded: what it is, where to find it, and your note in your own words — with a photo so they recognise it.

How to claim each one

Step-by-step guidance for every type — who to approach, what to carry — with links to the official channels like RBI, IRDAI and EPFO.

A word from you

Your personal message is kept alongside the record, and your family reads it when the record opens.

This is the guidance your family sees.

This is what your family sees with each entry — plain steps, real offices, official links. Not just "an LIC policy exists": what to carry, whom to meet, how long it usually takes.

05 — Safe by design

A map, not a vault.

KinNest records only where your things are — never your passwords, never your documents. Even in the worst case, there is nothing secret to steal.

  • Never connected to your money. No bank logins, no account linking. KinNest cannot see, touch or move a single rupee.
  • Where to look, not how to get in. "Passbook in the almirah" — never a password or a full account number.
  • Private to you. Locked behind your PIN. The people you name see nothing while you are alive.
  • No ads, never sold. The subscription is how we earn. Delete everything whenever you want.

How KinNest keeps your family safe →

How the handover stays safe
01
It always assumes you're alive.

Respond to a check-in and nothing opens. One tap resets everything.

02
One report is never enough.

There's a waiting period, and you always get the chance to say "I'm fine" and stop it.

03
Opens only to the people you named.

Verified in their own KinNest accounts — never to a stranger, never to whoever asks.

04
It helps while you are alive, too.

KinNest reminds you to register nominees at your bank and insurer — the step that turns a months-long claim into about two weeks.

06 — How it's different

KinNest is not a will, and it's not a banking app. Here's the difference.

A will says who. KinNest shows where.

Your will decides who inherits — it rarely lists where everything actually is. KinNest fills that gap, with or without a will.

A diary can't reach your family.

A notebook or a spreadsheet goes out of date in a drawer — and it can't reach anyone on its own. KinNest stays current, checks on you, and reaches your family when the time comes.

A banking app moves money. KinNest can't.

There is no link to any account, so there is nothing to misuse. KinNest holds your notes, and hands them to the right people at the right time.

08 — Questions

The things people ask first

Is this a will, or estate planning?

No. KinNest doesn't decide who inherits what and it isn't a legal will. It's a record and a handover — you note what exists and where, and name who should reach it for your family. Who legally inherits is handled the usual way.

Can KinNest touch my money?

No. KinNest never connects to your bank or your accounts — there's nothing to link and nothing to authorise. It has only what you write down — notes, like a notebook your family can safely receive.

Can my spouse or children see my record while I am alive?

No — while you are alive, your record is yours alone, locked behind your PIN. Even the people you name see nothing inside it. It opens to them only if something happens to you. If you want someone to know something today, you tell them yourself. KinNest is for the day you can't.

What if someone falsely says something happened to me?

This is the case we designed hardest for. A single report is never enough. KinNest keeps checking on you, gives you every chance to stop a false alarm, and needs more than one signal before it acts.

Why isn't it free?

We considered it, and chose not to. A free record gets set up once and forgotten, and a forgotten record is a risk: it could reach the wrong person or raise a false alarm. A small subscription keeps you connected to your record — so you keep it current, and it stays trustworthy on the day it matters. The full reason →

What if I stop paying?

Your record is not deleted. It goes quiet — no more reminders — but it stays safely kept. And if something has happened to you, the people you named can still come and claim it, even years later, with the same careful checks. A stopped payment never takes the record away from your family. How this works →

Set this up before it's needed.

A record like this must be set up while everything is fine. KinNest is in early access: join early, help shape it, and start your first year at the founding-family price.

Takes under a minute. We'll only use it to invite you in — no spam, no sharing, ever. Or write to contact@kinnest.in.
